A young boy and his great-aunt form an unexpected bond through a clash of past and present, discovering a profound love they never expected to find.

Nico, a restless pre-teen raised in a contemporary, hyper-connected world is forced to spend a summer in rural Sicily with his devoutly religious, traditionalist aunt. What begins as a stormy clash between modernity and spiritualism gradually softens through the haze of long, sun-drenched days. As the generational rift narrows, they discover a profound intimacy neither knew they lacked. 

Margherita Spampinato’s debut feature film transports us to a forgotten Italian way of life, exploring the liminal space between a vanishing past and an ever-evolving present.
