Being LGBT is criminalised in Muslim-majority Malaysia. A story close to home, QUEER AS PUNK shows Faris, a transman, and his punk band “Shh… Diam!” as they use their music to carve out spaces to exist in Malaysia, while challenging conservative traditions.

The punk revolutionary spirit burns bright against systemic transphobia, and paints a vivid picture of Singapore-Malaysian queer history, all to the tune of the band @shhdiam’s irreverent tunes, which pulses through the docu like a kick drum.
