Consumed by worry, his lover and fairy maiden Chang Er, adventures to the moon's unexplored dark side to find him. Crossing paths with an earthbound bandit whose vessel crash-lands in her domain, the mismatched pair must navigate dreamlike topographies, ancient mythologies, and their conflicting desires in a race against cosmic darkness.
Directed by Nelson Yeo, this spellbinding Singaporean-Taiwanese co-production premiered in competition at Locarno Film Festival 2026. Blending folklore, surrealist imagery, and poignant intimacy, the film offers a visually poetic and hauntingly romantic reimagining of the classic Eastern mythology.
